The conflicts between Hamas and Israel in the Middle East they are raging, having left behind thousands of dead and even more wounded.

Naturally, this situation has also affected sports, with most of its teams Israel to “get out of their way” looking for solutions so that they can compete in European competitions.

Apparently, in basketball at least, the solution was found. In particular, the Israeli clubs are expected to play their European home matches in Cyprus, but behind closed doors, as announced by the president of Cyprus Basketball Federation, Andreas Mouzouridis. All that remains is for the specific plan to be approved by FIBA.

We remind you that many teams had already been transferred to Cyprus, including the Maccabi Tel Aviv, so that they can continue their training and preparation. Now, both Maccabi and Hapoel Holon, Hapoel Halil, Bnei Herzliya and Nes Ziona will play their home European matches in Cyprus, until further notice.

As for their away matches, they will continue to take place as normal, with very strict security measures, as is expected to happen at OAKA, in tonight’s (20/10) match of Panathinaikou against the Maccabi.
