Take… forward n AEK Betsson BC of Joan Platha!

On Saturday night (21/10), the “Join” celebrated its first victory of the year in the Basket League, prevailing in the Ano Liosion Closed with the imposing, as well as impressive 100-70 of Apollo of Patras for the third matchday of the championship!

In their best game so far this season, the “yellow and black” caught high standards in defense and attack for the longest period of the match, reaching with typical comfort second consecutive pink game card, after and from that of last Tuesday (17/10) against Ludwigsburg, in the premiere of the BCL.

Leading for the winners was Ben McLemorewith the American guard producing his best performance with the ‘yellow and black’, stopping at 26 points on 9/11 shooting and 5/5 three-pointers, in just 17 minutes of participation! Tilman (18 points, 6 points), Netzipoglou (11 points) and Kuzminskas (10 points, 4 points, 4 assists) followed closely.

The top scorer of the championship stood out for the Patrinos who fell to 1-2, What J Starks, with 22 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists, as did Filippakos (16 points), but also the newly arrived center, Brown (14 points, 4 points).

The match:

THE AEK Betsson BC started with Flionis, Randle, McLemore, Kouseloglou and Tillman in the starting five, with Apollo of Patras to select Starks, Murato, Giuseli, Salustro and Brown in the starting line-up. The visitors opened the scoring with Brown, but that was their only lead in the match. And that’s because the “Union” entered the court very dynamically with him Ben McLemore throwing…fires on offensebuilt an early double-digit lead.

The American former NBAer of the home team unfolded his offensive talent having 16 points in the first quarterwho together with the very positive tonight Kouseloglou, sent AEK at +16 (25-9) at 7′. Netzipoglou’s shots and Hatzidakis’ basket brought to +18 (31-13), with Starks cutting into timeout with a 3-pointer for the 31-16 of the quarter.

A three-pointer that seemed to “wake up” the players of the home team, who brought energy and intensity to their game in the second quarter. With their protagonists Starks and the newly arrived center, BrownApollonas took advantage of AEK’s relaxation (7 mistakes in the quarter), reducing to 6 (37-31) at 15′. Two consecutive 3-pointers from Flionis and Randle sent the lead back to double digits (43-31)with the Brown-Starks duo then “gnawing away” at the difference and with ten points in the last three minutes, reducing it to 7 for 48-41 at halftime.

The third quarter can easily be characterized as “carbon” of the first, since the AEK Betsson BC he came in very eager to run and press on both sides of the floor. With the “tip of the spear” again Ben McLemorewho was… unbeaten behind 6.75m, but also Kuzminskas, “Union” quickly raised the gap to its maximum value in the match, for +18 and 63-45 at 24′. In fact, a little later, the aggressive pluralism of Joan Plata’s group brought the +21 (72-51) in the 28th minute with a basket by McRae, before Apollon Patrons reduced for the 74-59 of the periodthanks to consecutive three-pointers by Washington and Filippakos.

AEK Bettson BC did not let their foot off the “gas” either fourth and final period of the race. Taking advantage of the fatigue, but also the frustration of the Apollon players, he easily managed to increase the difference over 20 points, thanks mainly to his good quarter Tillman. Somehow, Joan Plata’s side cruised to their first league win of the year with the an impressive 100-70.

The quarters: 31-16, 48-41, 74-59, 100-70.
