Bartzokas: “Very important victory – Walkup played tight in the middle”

by

With its biggest “weapon” being the defense, Olympiacos prevailed comfortably 75-57 over Efes in SEF, with the coach of the “red and whites”, George Bartzokasto express his satisfaction with his team’s competitive image, while revealing that Walkup struggled with tightness in his waist.

In detail what the coach of Olympiakos said:

“It was a very serious performance from our team. Really focused defensively on Larkin, Beaubois, Bryant, Thompson. The Efes offense had 57 points in the end. We distributed the ball a little better in the second half, put all the players in the game and made the right decisions.

We have more players in training and time for the game, we consider the victory very important and we have to concentrate on the next match for the Basket League. Good luck to Efes and Coach Chan”.

On whether the football team’s big win over West Ham put stress on his team: “It turned out not to be, we watched the match in the dressing room as much as we could, obviously staying focused on our game. The crowd once again created a warm atmosphere. Our games are a celebration, we win, we lose but we always try. We were not stressed, the fact that we shared the time was important.

Walkup played 21 minutes with a hamstring strain and that he played that much time was significant. But you saw that those who played on the perimeter, Goss and those who played next to him were very good in creation and execution.”.
