Panathinaikos stunned with an imposing victory over Apollon Patras

He walked against the Apollo of Patras and continued his winning streak in the Stoiximan Basket League o Panathinaikos!

The “greens” did not face the slightest difficulty in the closed-door OAKA (they will also play the derby with AEK on 20/11, in the last game of their punishment, without people), winning with the emphatic 112-60 of Patrina and improving their record to 5-0, before traveling to Germany, where they will face Alba (10/11, 21:00) for the 7th matchday of the Euroleague.

The match began with Ergin Ataman selecting Guy, Grant, Grigonis, Mandzoukas and Balcherovski for his starting five, while the visitors lined up with Murato, Washington, Guizeli, Salustro and Brown. The “greens” showed their superiority from the first minutes in OAKA, since after the initial 5-5 they “stepped on the gas” and led 18-5, thanks to a 13-0 run! Two three-pointers from Mandzuka and Sluka pushed the difference to +20 (28-8), Washington was the only hitter for Apollo and Huatso made it 33-12 in the first period with his own three-pointer.

The picture of the game did not change in the second quarter, with the tall Panathinaikos dominating inside the racket, keeping the difference in favor of their team at very high levels. Antetokounmpo, with successive impressive spikes and a well-timed three-pointer, made it 46-23, Apollos was unable to find solutions in defense and attack, with the home team making the most of the occasion, going to the locker room with a 35-point lead (62-27 )! The “greens” finished the first half of the match having 15/24 two-pointers, 10/18 three-pointers and 27 more rebounds (32 instead of 5) than their opponents!

The third period started with a well-timed three-pointer by Giuzelis for Apollo, but Panathinaikos showed no inclination to relax, after responding with a 9-0 run, increasing the difference in their favor to +41 (71-30). Grigonis and Moraitis continued their team’s three-point rhapsody, giving them the biggest margin in their favor in the match (85-41), before Balcherovski reached 13 personal points, making it 89-42 at the end of the third period.
