Arsenal embrace qualification, Sevilla sinks

Jump qualification for the knockouts of the Champions League was made by Arsenal, imposed 2-0 Sevilla and escaped to the top of the 2nd group standings, while n Eindhoven beat Lens 1-0 and he was well on his way to qualifying.

The French remain alive, the Sevillians sink, who have remained at the bottom of the group without a win.

Arsenal-Seville 2-0

The Londoners predictably came on stronger and created several good chances, before finally making it 1-0 in the 29th minute. Scorer o Trosarwho took advantage of Saka’s… pick-and-place pass and sent the ball into the net from close range.

The 2-0 was late but it came just in time for the “gunners” to seal the victory, with Satchel to end the phase perfectly after Martinelli’s ball in the 63′.

The score remained unchanged until the final whistle, with Arsenal on nine points and set for their first place in the knockout stages of the competition in seven years.

Eindhoven-Lance 1-0

The match started with the best conditions for the Dutch, as in the 12th minute Bakayoko found the De Jong inside the area and he opened the scoring with a fine header.

1-0 was also the score of the first half, with the Dutch holding the lead against the French who recovered from the quick goal they conceded but could not find the equaliser.

Lance were even more mobile in the second half, with Benitez however stepping in whenever needed to keep a clean sheet. And when he couldn’t, the… post intervened, stopping Gilavogi’s shot in the 88th minute!

Shortly after, Tillman clipped Fulzini’s header on the line, with Gilavogi then sent off with a second yellow card.

Somehow the 1-0 remained until the end, with PSV moving up to 2nd place, along with the losers.
