The “red and white” won 3-1 set (25-22, 21-25, 25-14, 25-21) of the Ukrainian Prometei in Galatsi, Romania, and now they will have to beat the host Arkada 3-1 or 3-0 in the last competition, so that he can also qualify. In case of defeat, Olympiacos will claim the title of the best runner-up in the qualifying phase, together with the runner-up of the 5th qualifying group.

The match started with Prometei taking a 3-1 lead, before Olympiacos responded, taking a 6-4 lead. Derby until the end of the first set, with the Piraeus escaping with 22-19 and finally making it 1-0, with 25-22.

The Ukrainians then fought back, leading throughout the second set, which they eventually won 25-21, before Olympiacos dominated the third set, comfortably taking it 25-14. In the fourth set, Castellani’s team entered impressively, taking a 7-1 lead, while despite the fact that Prometheus was down 13-17, 16-20 and 20-23, Olympiacos reached 25-21, celebrating the victory that brings him even closer to the final phase of this year’s Champions League.
