Another “peak” for Vieirania and PAOK’s terrible streak

by

Last night was historic for Andre Vieirania, in his game PAOK with Panaitolikos for the 11th matchday of the Stoiximan Super League.

The captain of the “Two-Headed North” reached 234 appearances and became the foreign footballer with the most matches in the club’s history in the league.

Specifically, he surpassed Neto Guerino, who from September 1974 to December 1983, had played in 233 matches. After all, the Portuguese had passed the Brazilian in appearances in all competitions since last year, now having 316 against the once “black and white” ace who is now 73 years old.

Meanwhile, PAOK extended its winning streak against Panaitolikos, who fought it out and failed in another game to break the tradition that the Thessalonikians have created.

After yesterday’s match, the “Two-Headed of the North” counts 18 victories in both venues (16 for the league and 2 for the Greek Cup), with a total goal difference of 40-8.

PAOK has won with six different scores in their 12 victories, with 2-1 being the most frequent against Panaitolikos, since it has appeared 5 times. It follows 1-0 with three appearances. Their only draw is 0-0, while the victory of the Agrini team is 2-1. The 0-0 draw was the last time, on 22/11/2016, that the Agrinio team had not lost against the “black and whites”.
