Djokovic: “My goal for 2024 is the gold medal at the Olympics”

by

What if he has taken it all? THE Novak Djokovic he has not stopped claiming any trophy that comes his way!

The experienced Serbian tennis player shortly after his triumph over the Italian Janik Siner in the final of the last tournament of the year, hosted in Turin, referred to the goals of the new year, stressing that his primary goal is to be crowned Olympic gold medalist in Paris:

Taking stock of the year 2023, he said: “My match against Alcarath on Saturday night and the final on Sunday are probably my two best matches of the season. To beat Sinner in front of his home crowd and to end this tournament and my season like that is unbelievable. This title is a great reward for my team, for my family and for me, after one of the best seasons of my career. I won four of the five most important tournaments of the year (including Australian Open, Roland-Garros, US Open and Masters) and played in the final of the 5th, at Wimbledon. I couldn’t have hoped for more. I’m very, very proud”he initially said while continuing:

“I can do better if I win the four Grand Slam tournaments and win the Olympic title. We’ll see, I still have many ambitions and goals to achieve. It won’t be any different next year, I’m sure of it. The desire is still there, my body is still responding, I have a great team by my side. My motivation to win the biggest tournaments is intact, that’s what drives me to keep playing. People see me perform well in big tournaments, but they don’t see all the weeks and months of work to get there. The 2024 Olympics will be one of my big goals, along with the big tournaments. The schedule will be full, we’ll go from dirt, the slowest surface, to grass, the fastest, and then back to the slowest.”.
