Dabrauskas: “We don’t feel any panic – I believe in the team”

by

THE Valdas Dabrauskas spoke to the press representatives ahead of OFI’s match with Bullet and mentioned several things. The Lithuanian coach emphasized that his team does not feel any panic, after the last negative results, while he also commented on Friday’s match against his team Angel Lopez.

His statements in detail:

“We are calm, we know what we are doing and we are working in one direction. We know our direction and there are always ups and downs on the road. When these things happen, you have to know how to react. Like for example when you drive a car on a potholed road. You have to know what to do. When to turn, when to press harder on the gas.

We don’t feel any panic, We train as always, we know it’s not an easy game, we know we haven’t won in a while. The game comes after a break and you never know what you might encounter. I believe in the training we have done, in the players, I believe in the team”first reported and continued:

“When there is a break for the Nationals you don’t have the whole group and as a coach you want to have control and you don’t have it. Because one player is here, the other is there. Bakic, Toral, Glazer are still out.”

He then referred to the fact that in the last training sessions young people from the K19 also participated: “I am grateful for the fantastic partnership we have with the academy. I really feel that we are growing as a team and as a club.”

As for whether there is pressure, he said: “What you journalists feel, what the world feels and what we feel is something different. Are we getting relegated? No. What is our goal? The playoffs. We are one point away. I really feel like the panic is far greater than the purpose. Show me a team that won’t go through hard times. If you were AEK journalists, what would you say when your team lost to OFI and then beat Brighton and drew with Ajax?

What would you do when Olympiacos conceded four goals from PAOK at home? The journalists of these groups are not crazy. When a difficult time comes, society comes and pushes you even more. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. For example, this year we have played against Ioannina three times. We played both very badly. We played badly and got four points though. This is football.”

While for the game with Volos he noted: “We want to play freely. Let’s not listen to anyone and play our game. We have a plan and we have to pick the top 11. Every day they change your mind, the players give you a pleasant headache. It’s not an easy game. We want to give a victory to our world and we will do everything for it”.
