PAOK threw a party, in the (lots of) rain, before the “final” with Eintracht Frankfurt!
The “bicep of the North” became widespread (5-0) welcoming Panserraikos in Toumba, as part of the 12th match of the Stoiximan Super League (remember that the venue was reversed for the game, due to the temporary revocation of the Serres stadium concession). A race that was held in difficult weather conditions.
The Thessalonians – who from time to time produced their excellent combined efforts – laid a solid foundation for victory from the first half, thanks to the goals of Ozdoev (21′) and Murg (28′), both from his assists Tyson (which reached 5th in the championship). A fair half-time result for the hosts, with the score doing injustice to the effort of the guests, who had a goal in the 40th minute with Deligiannidis. The latter took the place of the injured Avlonitis, who was absent in the 1-0 phase (with his team playing with ten).
In the second half, the game slowly began to fade away. Until he makes a triple change Rasvan Lucescu and to follow 9 minute burstwith his second goal Murg (and this with the right – fourth overall in the season, as much as Ozdoev), the direct corner kick from Despodov (essentially Hovan’s own goal) and the 5-0 by Rafa Soareshis first goal with PAOK.
Of course, in addition to the psychology that the home team got (and) for the crucial meeting with the German team on Thursday (11/30), they put three more points in the “bag”. Specifically, they reached them 26being 3rd, at -2 from Panathinaikos (less matches), at -1 from Olympiakos and at +2 from AEK (less matches).
At the same time, Panserraikos stayed at 13 pointsbeing 8th and in -2 from the 6th place, with the Serraios playing on Wednesday (29/11) the postponed away match against Volos.
He was deified often o Pablo Garcia from the world of PAOK, on his return to Toumba.
In the… minds of the coaches:
THE Rasvan Lucescu lined him up PAOK with Murg in the “ten”, Michaelidis in the stoppers and at the same time… breaking the “classic” twins in the central midfielders. Specifically, in a 4-2-3-1 system, Kotarski was at home, Sastre was the right back, Rafa Soares was the left back and Ekong and Michaelidis were duo in the center of the defense. The equivalent in the midfield consisted of Schwab and Ozdoev. Ten, then, Murg, who had Despontoff on his right, Tyson on his left and Thomas in front of him.
Same system from Pablo Garcia for Panseraic. Under the rafters Hovan. The defense consisted, from right to left, of Dunkerlouis, Avlonitis, Bergstrom and Petavrakis. Moreira and Staikos in the midfield duo, with Murgos, Tomas and Peleas moving behind the only promoted player, Aleksic.
The match:
Despite the difficult weather conditions, the game started at a good pace. Something that both sides contributed to. Mainly, of course, the hosts who tried to break the opposing defense with nice combinations. This is how the first good moment for PAOK was created, at 5′which ended with his shot Tyson from the boundary of the area, while at 9′ The Bergstrom made a catalytic tackle before the -all alone- Thomas do the projection before empty hearth!
Panserraikos was also trying to create its own moments, with Sastre making a key intervention in the 12′ in a dangerous counterattack by the Serrai.
Finally, the home team found their way to the net at 21′: Ballia-“delight” by Tysonwho had seen his movement Ozdoev, which he found, with the Russian midfielder sending the ball into the net with a nailed header. A phase in which he was absent – due to a problem – Avlonite from the pitch and from the stoppers, with the home team taking advantage of his absence. After the 1-0, the Serrai advanced to the forced changewith Deligiannidis crossing the field.
The guests were close to the immediate response to 24′but the Kotarsky pushed away the newcomer’s dangerous header for a corner Deligiannidis.
Very quickly came the 2-0 for PAOK, specifically in 28′: Stealing it Tyson after risk transfer, combination at the border of the area, final recipient o Murg which he executed with the right for 2-0.
PAOK – thanks to Tyson’s quality and his good competitive qualities – laid a solid foundation for the “three points” early on.
Terrible double chance at 40′, one for each team! Initially, Peleus crossed from the left, with Deligiannidis to send the ball to beam with projection. In the development of the phase, the Thessalonians ran on the counterattack, with Despodov taking the parallel, but Murg not finding the ball for… millimeters.
Four finals for each team, with the 2-0 final for the first part not 100% reflecting Panseraikos’ effort.
Pablo Garcia made a second change at the start of the second half, with Thymianis replacing Tomas and the system returning to 4-3-3.
The first good moment was again for PAOK and in fact a double one, in the 52nd minute with Murg, with Hovan making “stops” in both cases.
Somewhere there the match started to fade. Until the outburst started with three goals by PAOK in nine minutes, from 71′ to 80′! A development, to which Lucescu’s triple movement from the bench (Constantelias, Samata and Meite instead of Tyson, Tomas and Ozdoev respectively) contributed, which seemed to wake up his team.
In the 71′therefore, the Konstantelias did a wonderful action, passed to Despodov and the ball after a carom reached the Murgwho finished – again with the right – coolly from close range for 3-0.
In the 74′ The Despodov take the corner directly, o Dunkerlois in his attempt to chase, he sent the ball backwards, with him Hovan not being able to block it on the line, instead fending off erratically and the ball ending up in his team’s net. A goal that the organizing authority credited to the Bulgarian ace.
The icing on the cake for the “two-headed man of the North” was put on 80′ The Rafa Soares: Terrible action from the newcomer Jima who took the ball a little in front of the cross, reached the edge of the area, but without executing accurately. In the development of the phase, the left back of the home team took the ball and with a powerful shot from a diagonal position nailed the ball into the net.
PAOK’s “party” stopped somewhere there, with 5-0 being the final score.

MVP: PAOK laid the foundations for the victory in the first half, with this 2-0 that went to the locker room. Two goals, both from his assists Tyson. The man, therefore, who unlocked the opposing defense, continuing “hot” this season. This year’s Tyson is extremely valuable for PAOK.
The whistle: There were calls for a penalty on the part of the visitors in the 24th minute, for a handball in the phase with Deligiannidis’ header, with the score at 1-0. Otherwise a quiet evening for the diet team.
The compositions of the two teams:
PAOK (Rasvan Lucescu): Kotarski – Sastre (77′ Vieirinia), Ekong, Michaelidis, R. Soares – Schwab, Ozdoev (68′ Meite) – Despodov, Murg (77′ Jimas), Tyson (68′ Constantelias) – Thomas (68′ Samata).
Panserraikos (Pablo Garcia): Hovan – Dankerlouis, Avlonitis (22′ Deligiannidis), Bergstrom, Petavrakis – Moreira, Staikos (63′ Masaripov) – Mourgos (75′ Maskanakis), Tomas (46′ Thymianis), Peleas – Aleksic (63′ Bairovics).
