Madrid played better, controlled the match and did not allow the home team to threaten, as a result of which they kept the lead in their favor until the break.
It was the same start to the second half, with Simeone’s side doubling their lead thanks to Hermoso’s superb save in the 57th minute. Twenty minutes later Feyenoord showed a… pulse and reduced the score, re-entering the contention of the positive result, but another own goal, this time from Jimenez in the 81st minute restored the two-goal difference, making the final 3-1.
