Terrible game, with a terrible pace, changes of emotions, six goals, a goal and … no winner, the one that … opened the curtain today (29/11) in the 1st group of the Champions League between Galatasaray and Manchester United, in Istanbul…
With the 3-3 final leaving neutral spectators satisfied, the Turkish team in second place in the standings and the visiting tailbacks, need to win the 6th and final matchday against the leaders Bayern Munich at home to continue data in the European Cups and beyond in December!
Manchester United got into the game well, despite the hot atmosphere at the ‘Ali Sami Jen’ and thanks to an excellent partnership between Fernandes and Hoylund, the former passed the ball to Garnazzo who opened the scoring in the 11th minute and made… a save in the Champions League.
Galatasaray’s missed chance to equalize followed, with Onana instinctively palming Torreira’s header at the far post four minutes later.
With the ball… going up and down, the “red devils” scored an amazing goal with Fernandes, with their captain’s “lightning” from a lateral position and left in the 18th minute to make it 0-2!
The… dance of beautiful goals continued, however, with the direct execution of a free-kick by Ziyès in the 29th minute, as with a lot of fouling he passed the ball over the wall and sent it into the right corner of Onana, reducing it to 1-2 for the home team.
In fact, in the 43′, Icardi came out four-four with Onana, beat him, making it 2-2 but the goal was canceled for offside, correctly, even if it was a borderline phase.
Manchester started just as well in the replay and managed to regain the two-goal lead in the 54th minute. When he produced an exemplary counter-attack with Bissaka filling in from the right and the oncoming McTominay finding the net with a display at the far post for the first time in his career at the competition, making it 1-3.
However, the home team responded relatively immediately, again with Ziyès, once again with a free kick, but in this case with Onana doing a big “gella” and essentially scoring an own goal in the 62nd minute.
They didn’t stop there, either, after they evened it up with Akturkoglou making it 3-3 in the 70th minute, assisted by the “moonstruck” Ziyes, amid… panzourlism!
Entering the final stretch, the suspense was even more intense, with both teams having their moments to both get the “three points”…
That of Ten Haag with the efforts of Garnazzo and McTominay in the 76′ and 77′ barely going wide and Muslera’s dry shot on the edge of the area rattling the right post of Muslera in the 85th minute!
While, a minute earlier, Zaha missed the chance to make the complete turnaround, as his cross ended up in the arms of Onana. As happened in the 90′, with Pelistri’s effort.
