Even Marble and Olympicthe… paranoia prevailed!
He had it… after all, the match in Panthessal except a winner. In a match, which was divided into three… halves due to episodes just before the end, the light board showed 2-2. The hosts took the lead twice, through the white bullet, with Moraitis not to succeed with the first at 20′, as Paschalakis saved his penalty (which led to the expulsion of Retsus), but got the revenge as the phase progressed. In the 44th El Kaabi equalised with a penalty won by Biancone. Both were given through VAR.
In the 45’+12′ Volos was left with ten players, with Myga facing a second yellow, having pushed Fortounis into a counterattack. THE Garcia sent the ball into the net at 51′ with a penalty, which Moraitis won from Ibora. The “red and white” equalized in the 54th minute own goal by Kalogeropoulos after Rodney’s cross.
Two goals of Piraeus were disallowed for the 3-2, by Masoura in the 60′ (for offside by El Kaabi), and also by El Kaabi in the 89′ (for offside by El Arabi). Both were canceled via VAR and before that happened they were dedicated to… Martinez by the scorers.
At 90’+4′ the match was interrupted due to incidents and the return to “action” took place after about 53′ minutes. The players of both teams played… pasulas and the match ended after about two minutes.
In the coach’s mind
With 4-4-2 Volos. Kostic was in goal, Kalogeropoulos and Sielis were in defense, with Myga and Luna in the backs. Glavcic and Trouillet in the midfield, with Alho and Koba on the wings, while Moraitis and Garcia were in the attack.
With something like 4-4-2 Olympiakos. In the goal was Paschalakis, the stoppers were Biancon and Retsos, while the backs were Rodinei and Ortega. Ibora and Kamara were in the midfield, while Fortounis and Biel were on the wings, with Masoura flanking El Kaabi in the attack.
The match
THE Olympic entered the match having the initiative of the moves, with Volos waiting, but the hosts were the first to create the conditions for something good. Retsos, however, countered Garcia’s attempt in the 4th minute and Paschalakis blocked.
Piraeus had Rodinei very active from the start, with the Brazilian crossing for Masoura in the 6th minute, but the international ace delayed to perform, it was closed and the shot he made finally found bodies. He could well open the scoring at this stage. Almost from the same spot was Rodney’s shot in the 12′, but with less good conditions.
At 16′, the phase that resulted in 1-0 took place. Garcia went behind the Olympiakos defense, Retsos knocked him down and Papapetrou showed white arrow through onfield review. Moraitis took over the execution, Paschalakis saved, but the Volos player took the rebound and sent the ball into the net in the 20th minute.
After several incomplete attempts, in the 34th minute Olympic he threatened with Masoura distributing verticals, El Kaabi anticipating the exit of Kostic, who nevertheless took the Moroccan’s shot. In the 42nd Papapetrou he pointed again with the help of VAR the white bullet, in a blow by Kostic to Biancone. El Kaabi executed it penalty kick strong and sent the ball into the net.
In the 45′, Volos had a very good moment with Moraitis’ header from Myga’s cross, while the home team’s chance was even better in the 45’+7′, with Koba executing from the height of the penalty and Paschalakis making a terrible save , falling low.
In the 45’+12′ the numerical balance was restored, with Garcia and Myga knocking down Fortounis on the counterattack and the 2nd receiving a yellow, which was the second.
The second part also started energetically, with Fortune to make a slash for Masoura who entered the area, but lost the duel with Sielis and the opportunity to face off with Kostic. In the 50th minute, Volos won another penalty, with Moraitis falling to the ground after being marked by Ibora.
THE Garcia took over the execution and beat Paschalakis, sending the ball almost into the center of the goal.
Olympiacos answered three minutes later, in a lucky way. Rodinei made the cross from the right, the ball found the knee of Kalogeropoulos who made the projection to chase in 54′.
Olympiacos almost found the 3-2 immediately, with Masoura receiving the ball after a poor chase by Sielis, but the international ace sent the ball narrowly wide in the 56th minute. In the next minute, Piraeus had another great opportunity. Masouras stepped into the area and Sielis kicked his return in front of El Kaabi.
In the 60th minute, Olympiacos celebrated, but he didn’t make it 3-2. Fortounis made a smart free kick and found Masoura who came face to face with Kostic and executed him, but it was ruled offside after an onfield review by El Kaabi.
In a non-starting phase, Alhos went four-on-four with Paschalakis, but missed and then was indicated in an irregular position in the 68th minute. Three minutes later, Koba found himself in a good position and sent the ball just over the goal.
In the 85th minute, Volos had a very good moment, with Alhos making the projection and missing, after Korne’s cross. In the next phase, Olympiacos wasted a great opportunity for 3-2. On Biancon’s set-piece, El Kaabi headed in and sent the ball narrowly wide.
In the 89th minute, Olympiacos again celebrated for 3-2, but the tie remained. Fortounis committed a free kick, El Arabi headed in and El Kaabi sent the ball into the net. Through VAR it was found that the first was exposed.

MVP: Hard to single out any player. Moraitis has a hand in both of Volos’ goals, opening the scoring in the 20th minute in a phase where he earlier missed a penalty, while he won a penalty in the 51st minute.
Whistle: It was bad refereeing. Papapetrou, for his part, has achieved… a few things. Three penalties have been awarded, two of which (one for each team) required the intervention of the VAR, while he alone indicated the third. Two Olympiakos goals were disallowed for offside. In Masoura it was given to El Kaabi who participates in the phase, without finding the ball, while in the 2nd the question is whether the offside lines have been correctly given to El Arabi who makes the header-pass. Olympiakos called for a penalty in the hand of Sielis in the 57th minute, where he found it with his hand, with Ibora’s header coming in contact, but also in two other cases.
