“Although Super League 2 makes a great effort to eliminate phenomena of violence from the stadiums of our category and has managed to have no cases in this year’s season, the fear of another tragedy in Greek sports cannot leave us indifferent.
In the hope that our society will not experience another tragedy and that the policeman who was injured in the sad events that took place on the sidelines of the Olympiacos-Panathinaikos derby for the League Cup will win the battle he is fighting, the thoughts of all of us are initially with his family and then to the responsibility that we all have in order to turn the Greek stadiums into entertainment venues again.
At some point, we have to stop being afraid. At some point we all have to come together and find solutions. No matter how painful they are.
Awaiting the announcements of the prime minister and the Greek government on the fight against violence in Greek sports, we invite all the relevant bodies to finally sit honestly at the same table in order to stop taking our fellow human beings to the weekends (but now also our weekdays) intensive care unit of a hospital.
It goes without saying that as a cooperative we will be supporters of any measure moving in this direction. There are no other margins».
