First and best is the awesome Atlético – Celtic win prestigious with Palma

Cleaned Lazio and secured the first place for Atlético! Madrid may not have had to step on the gas, but they didn’t have much trouble beating Maurizio Sarri’s side 2-0 and through to the ’16’… first and best.

At the same time, the “Lazio” who had secured their qualification to the next phase, passed as second from the group and will have a particularly difficult task.

Meanwhile, Luis Palma-scoring Celtic managed to beat Feyenoord 1-0, bidding farewell to Europe with a prestigious victory in an otherwise low-scoring game.

Atlético Madrid cleaned up with typical comfort, which was superior for most of the match and kept Lazio’s assets away from Oblak’s shots. With usual suspect Griezmann striking, the Rojiblancos took the lead… first in just the 6th minute, then had good moments for a second goal but didn’t spoil them. With Lazio looking to fight back, but the inspirations of Xacani and Immobile are not enough. Somehow, Lino struck again in the 51st minute to clear the scoreboard for Atlético, with Csolo Simeone and his men managing the game brilliantly afterwards, taking the hat-trick to leave Sarri’s side second.

Celtic-Feyenoord

Celtic got their only win in the group, beating Feyenoord 2-1. A glorious hat-trick for the Scots, having already waved goodbye to Europe and just… coming home with their heads held high.

The match had a terrific pace throughout and plenty of phases, with the home team taking the lead in the 32nd minute with a penalty shot by former Aris winger Luis Palma. A lead they held for fifty minutes, after Feyenoord equalized with Midech in the 82nd minute and seemed to get what they deserved, at least, from the game since they weren’t any worse. Finally, however, the Scots managed to get the victory with Lagerbielke in the 90’+2’… drying up the Dutch.
