“Proud of my players, I believe they will be in the Final-4”: Itoudis’ “farewell” to Fenerbahce

by

Dimitris Itoudis wrote the epilogue of his presence in Fenerbahce.

With a post on social media, the Greek coach said goodbye to the Turkish team, which on Wednesday had announced the “divorce” of both sides.

After a rich year and a half in Istanbul, filled with fond memories, I was informed that my journey with Fenerbahce has come to an end. The time together was marked by important wins and us coming one second away from qualifying for the EuroLeague Final Four in the first season.

At the same time, we faced challenges, moments that could have shaped our journey differently. Nevertheless, I assure our followers that in those moments our resolve never wavered. We fought tirelessly, often against the odds. I am not one of the critics and I will never stop believing in the team we built this year and the players I coached. I’m proud of them and I believe they will be in the Final Four, despite my absence, because they really deserve it.

My deepest thanks go to my dedicated staff, whose countless hours of hard work and tireless support have been pivotal.

Finally, and most importantly, I want to thank the fans of Fenerbahce. Your warm welcome and endless love during my tenure was invaluable. Together we have forged an impregnable arena this year, a testament to your amazing support and the spirit we have created.

As I bid you farewell, I carry the spirit of Fener with me and wish you the best of luck in your future endeavours. Until we meet again“, says the 53-year-old coach.
