The match
In fact, for a period, Bayern managed to compete against Monaco. The visitors started the match quite strongly with Kemba Walker and James starting the match excellently and leading their team initially, with 9-2 and then with 13-4. Monaco’s relaxation and Weiler-Bubb’s game rise lifted Bayern, who closed the period with 14-17.
Until then… Monaco stepped up their performance after that and with Okobo waking up they maintained the lead, and increased the gap to 13 points with them, initially and even more then with the half time finding the teams 46-31.
Monaco increased the difference even more in the third period, to 18 (56-38). Monaco kept the lead at these levels for the next few minutes with Bayern making a big effort to cut back and take it. Catalyst Francisco who helped his team make a 10-0 run and drop the difference to single digits after a long period and end the third quarter with 60-67.
However, Bayern’s effort stopped in the last period with Monaco…tightening their defense more and James, Diallo, Okobo restoring order, the difference in double digits and finally the victory.
