In the presence of the Deputy Minister of Sports, Yannis Vroutsisand the general secretary of Sports, Giorgos Mavrotasthe last training session of the national men’s water polo in Greece took place in Piraeus, before its departure for Croatia, where on Thursday (4/1) the European Championship. Mr. Vroutsis wished good success to the “silver” Olympians of Tokyo and assured them that the State will be by their side in whatever they need.
In the afternoon, the Deputy Sports Minister will pay a corresponding visit to the women’s national team, which is also completing its preparations for the European Championships in Eindhoven.
“The best start to 2024 with our legendary National Men’s Polo Team in their last training session before they leave for Croatia where they will participate in the final phase of the European Championship!“, says Yannis Vroutsis in his post.
“I got close to our Olympic silver medalists and World Champions and wished them the best of luck. I spoke with their success meter, coach, Thodoris Vlachos and assured them that the State is by their side in whatever they need! I was also accompanied by Mr. Sports, Giorgos Mavrotas emblematic figure for Greek polo.
In the afternoon I will visit our women’s national team to wish our international athletes, who are leaving for the Netherlands, where their own European Championship is being held!“, Mr. Vroutsis emphasizes and concludes:
