FIFA vetoes Palmeiras’ new kit debut against Chelsea in the World Cup

by

FIFA banned Palmeiras from wearing their new away kit during the Club World Cup, held in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates. The entity has not yet defined the uniforms that will be used in the final. If the São Paulo team has to play in white, it will use the old model against Chelsea, on Saturday (12).

The veto occurred because the highest football body vetoes the use of messages on the uniforms of clubs and teams that compete in the tournaments organized by it.

The new model of the Palmeiras team, launched by Puma a few weeks ago, contains the inscription “for a greener future”, stamped several times, in order to create horizontal lines. The shirt has not yet been used by the team this season. The green option was used in games for Paulista and in the semifinals of the World Cup, against Al Ahly, from Egypt.

In addition to vetoing messages, FIFA allows the use of only one sponsor in team uniforms. That’s why Palmeiras played without the College of the Americas brand and only exhibited the Crefisa brand.

While the board decides which color will play in the final, coach Abel Ferreira led this Thursday (10th) the penultimate training session before the game against Chelsea, at the Mohammed Bin Zayed stadium. With no shortages, the coach should repeat the formation that surpassed Al Ahly.

One of the highlights of the alviverde team in the semifinal, midfielder Danilo, 20, showed confidence for the confrontation with the English and said that Abel is preparing tactical surprises.

“As we do with all the teams we are going to face, we prepare well on the pitch to be able to do what Abel asks and try to win. Today was a tactic there to be able to surprise on Saturday. I think we will surprise, yes, and become champions, with faith in God”, said the player.

The athlete, who followed the game between Chelsea and Al Hilal on TV, also made an analysis of the London team. “A team that likes counterattacks, likes to have the ball, the full-backs support a lot, it was nothing different from the Champions League final, which was more disputed. The first half was more intense, the second was more cadenced. game on Saturday.”
