The obligation that Aris has to react after the defeat by Asteras in Tripoli was highlighted by his statements, ahead of tonight’s match against PAOK, the Quique Saverio.

The midfielder from Ecuador emphasized that the “yellows” want to atone for the specific negative result, but to do this they will have to enter the derby concentrated from the first minute of the match and closed with a reference to his absence people from the stands.

Analytically:

On whether Ares has managed to overcome the defeat by Asteras: “What’s done is done… We’ve put this result behind us. At the moment we are focusing on the derby with PAOK, which is very important for the three points, but also because of the rivalry between the two teams. We know the importance of this game for the fans of our team. We are 100% focused on it.”

On what the players discussed after the specific match:“What is said in the locker room, must stay there. Of course, though, we’re all very unhappy that a game of ours was lost, purely through our own stupid mistakes. It is a result, which the club in general and our fans in particular, but also ourselves, did not like. It’s a performance we must never repeat.”

Regarding the derby with PAOK and what mistakes the Aris players should avoid, based on what happened in the games with Lamia and Astera Tripoli, he clarified: “The most important thing is that we must not lose our concentration at any point. We lost the game in Tripoli because we lost our concentration. We believed at 0-2 that we had won. We then allowed silly mistakes to be made, which led to the loss. Knowing the quality of our upcoming opponent, we know we must not allow similar mistakes to happen. The key to victory on Sunday is absolute concentration.”

Regarding the field of competition and what Aris must do against PAOK in the stadium, he emphasized: “It is a very important game. We know its importance. We have confidence, we have concentration, but also a responsibility towards the club and our world, but also to ourselves to win. We have to get into the game and get the win!”

Regarding the fact that this is the first derby for Aris that he will play without his people in the stands, due to government measures, even if this plays a role, he stated: “We prefer to play with our world. After all, football without fans doesn’t make much sense. Certainly the absence of people at the derby will have some influence on us, because we know how much our fans help us, especially in difficult times. However, we must impose ourselves, overcome this fact and come in focused for the three points.”
