Draymond Green honest: ‘I cost my team a lot – I needed a break’

by

After an absence 12 matches due to punishment for punching Jusuf Nurkic, o Draymond Green is ready to return to the courts, which is expected to happen in their match Warriors with Pelicans (11/01, 3:30 am).

THE American forward gave a press conference and spoke about the work he did with himself in the one month he was out of action, while he admitted that he did harm to his team and sent a message to change “page”.

In detail what he said:

“I cost my team a lot. I cost the organization a lot. In my first session, the treating psychologist was clear: I shouldn’t do them if I think it’s forced. There was a targeted approach to what exactly I needed and what are the causes of my breakouts.

It was very easy for me to open up to the therapist. I needed to gather my thinking, redefine myself. It’s hard to see things when you’re in it. Difficult to understand what is necessary.

Basketball was the least important thing to me. I needed a break. One of the best moments was that I didn’t have to wake up every day and say: Ok, I have to go to work. When I felt ready to train again, it was healing in itself.

I had the time to do it and not because it was imposed on me. I had to be in a ‘better place’ for my mind, to allow the process to achieve this.”
