The talented striker, who had been targeted by many major European teams, including Olympiakos, accepted the “clover”‘s offer for the next 2.5 years he will wear the green cap.

“The Panathinaikos Athletic Club announces the start of its collaboration with Nikos Papanikolaou for 2.5 years for the polo department.
The water polo department of Panathinaikos made a great transfer move, as it added Nikos Papanikolaou to its dynamic team.
The 24-year-old forward won his third consecutive US college championship with the University of California, Berkeley, while winning the MVP award for the third consecutive season.
It is recalled that Papanikolaou was crowned world champion with the national youth team in 2018, when he was named the top player of the World Championship in Sobatelli, Hungary.
Papanikolaou started his career in 2009 at Nireas Chalandriou and the following year he went to Paleo Faliro where he stayed until around 2015.
He then transferred to ANO Glyfadas where he stayed until 2019 before transferring to the University of Berkeley in the USA from where he ended his career a few days ago.
In a statement to pao1908.com, Papanikolaou said: “Of course I am very happy to return to Greece and to compete in such a big Club as Panathinaikos. I come with additional experiences from the USA and look forward to working with coach Mazzy again. I know many of my teammates and I can’t wait to start training and start the matches in March to do something very good with Panathinaikos”.
