The expatriate ace’s contract with Piraeus was completed next summerwith both sides finally making the decision after discussions to go their separate ways as of now.
The reason for this decision has to do with the fact that George Papas wants to be in a team and an environment where he can play and contribute to the competitive side.
The arrival of Naz Mitrou-Long at the port, as well as the returns of the injured, did not allow the young guard to find time to participate in the Greek championship, that is why this decision was made.

George Pope was born on March 15, 1998 in New Jersey, United States and has a height of 1.96. This is a player who stands out for his perimeter shooting, with very good percentages throughout his career, close to 40%. He began his career in the 2017-18 season with the NCAA and the Monmouth Hawks, with whom he remained until 2021-22. He gradually established himself as a starter and in his senior year his averages skyrocketed to 15 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3 assists in about 34 minutes of action. In the last two years, he competed in Olympiakos, winning 2 championships, 2 Cups and 2 Super Cups.
