Using VAR, the matches of the Greek Cup will be held from now on, ie from the “16” phase onwards.

This decision was made on Wednesday (10/11) by the Executive Committee of the EPO, taking into account the many and serious refereeing mistakes that have been made so far in the Cup.

The use of VAR in the Greek Cup is not provided by the contract with the company that sponsors and manages the system, except in the final and / or semifinals.

For that reason, The costs for this additional use of the system will be borne by the teams that are now participating in the event..

Agrafiotis disagreed about Konstantinidis and Fyssa

The Executive Committee of the EPO decided to renew its cooperation until June 2024 with Costas Konstantinidis, technical director of National Teams and Takis Fyssas, athletic director of the Men’s National Team.

The only member of the council who disagreed with this decision was the vice-president of Olympiacos, Takis Agrafiotis.

The discussion about the new organization chart

The legal service of the EPO will give an opinion on whether the executive secretary of the federation, Iakovos Filippoussis, was authorized to prepare the new organizational chart and whether the approval of the Executive Committee is required.

The new Statute of the EPO, which was voted by the General Assembly in August, has not yet been approved by the Magistrates’ Court, however the same provisions for the issue were included in the old one. That is, the executive secretary is responsible for the organization chart, while the same practice was followed by all previous administrations.

In any case, the new organization chart does not freeze and is valid from its notification onwards.

It should be noted that the vice-president of Olympiacos, Takis Agrafiotis wanted to rule on the issue as a legal advisor outside the EPO.
