In the “4” of the Betsson Hellenic Cup after a match-thriller o Panathinaikos, who prevailed 2-0 against Atromitos away thanks to a Mladenovic goal in the 5th minute of stoppage time and… he waits PAOK!
Dominant in Peristeri are his players Fatih Terimwhich saw his team open the scoring with Reuben in the 35th minute, to miss chances and have a goal disallowed by Geremegev, before an improbable header by the Serbian full-back in the final gave the “clover” qualification with total score 3-2.
In the coach’s mind
With 5-4-1 lined up his team o Sasha Ilyich, which had Tsintotas under the posts and Kivrakidis, Tsakmakis, Acevedo, De Bock and Athanasiou in defense. Kunde, Ender, Valencia and Vrakas played as a quartet in the midfield, with Andzielski being the only forward.
On the other hand, Mr Fatih Terim walked with 4-2-3-1, choosing Dragovski in goal and Kochira, Ugo, Akaidin and Mladenovic in defense. Ruben-Cherin was selected in the axis, with Bernard, Bakassetta and Palacios trio behind Geremegev.
The match
The first good moment came in the 5th minute, with Bakaseta taking a free kick from the right and Reuben to send the ball out with a header – with the Spaniard, of course, possibly starting from an offside position.
A long, mistimed shot by Kivrakidis in the 16th minute did not worry Dragovski at all, with Panathinaikos stepping up their pressure and having a shot out by Bakaseta at 20′.
The home team almost caught Terim by surprise in the 28th minute when Valencia found Angelski inside the area but he shot at a teammate who was exposed!
Bakaseta’s header in the 32nd minute was also off target, however in the 35th minute, the goal for the “greens” finally came. Scorer Rubenwho sent the ball into the net with a powerful shot from inside the area after full time following a corner.
This development pushed the “clover” to press even more, with Bakaseta’s projection in the 39th minute ending up wide, as well as his header Acaidin at 45+1′.
The second half found Panathinaikos still having the initiative of the movements, with Bakaseta to miss a shot from a good position in the 57th minute. Three minutes later, Mr Cherin cooperated perfectly with Geremeev and came out four-four, however he sent the ball over to T-shirts…
In the 62nd minute, she finally found the back of the net after an excellent placement by him Geremegevwho was however able offsidewith the goal disallowed.
The Swede threatened again in the 73rd minute, with the Atromitos keeper saving his shot, while a fine free-kick combination in the 76th minute resulted in Bakashetta’s shot being off target.
Time passed and the score did not change, with the “greens” pushing to avoid overtime. Finally, in the 5th minute of stoppage time, redemption came.
THE Bernard played ball in the area, with him Mladenovic to catch the header and send it with an improbable high-hanging path into the depth of Atromitos’ hearth!
There was no time for the hosts to react, with Panathinaikos going through with a total score of 3-2.
MVP: THE Filip Mladenovic he was the man of the last moment for Panathinaikos, with his terrible header in the 90+5′ fooling Tsintotas and giving his team the qualification. And before the goal, of course, the Serb was active overall.
The… whistle: He had enough work Evangelou in Peristeri. Three times initially there was consultation with VAR for tackles in the Atromitos area, with Geremegev’s goal correctly disallowed for offside. In the 68th minute, there was a push on Bakaseta from Valencia that was not given as a foul, while Tsakmakis’ pull on the Swede in the 81st minute inside the area brought reactions from the visitors, who they also issued a statement.
