Incredible things in the magical world of Greek football. Last Sunday (28/01) the match between AER Afantou and Thyella Rafina, in Rhodes, stigmatized from serious incidents, with the away team uploading relevant video of the loss on social media.
Some 24 hours later, however, the Storm issued a statement about what happened, complaining that they threaten them in the club with “coffins” in view of the match with Ialyssos, also on the “emerald island”.

Two days after what happened at the end of the A.E.R. match. AFANTOU with our team on 28/1/2024, which was seen by all of Greece and by all the mass media, from the video that was released and shot without being noticed (fortunately) by our man and we say fortunately on the one hand because we don’t know if it was noticed if he could pull it from the other side so that everyone would know exactly what happened, to whom we thank and congratulate him for his specific act and while we have not positioned ourselves at all but only uploaded it so that everyone is aware of what happened, we expected a humane apology from the management of the A.E.R. union. Afantou.
Instead, we were surprised to read the official statement of the President of A.E.R. Afandou and even doctor Christos Christofis in the online newspaper “Rodiaki” to say that we provoked with insults and gestures and that four or five young sports fans whose blood boils did the episodes and that the administration tried to limit it. So we wonder how it is possible for a scientist to claim all this when the audiovisual material clearly shows football players and a large number of “fans” of his team indiscriminately beating any of our football players in front of them, breaking the doors of our dressing room and the referee and causing for a long time panic, huge tension and injuries.
We for our part will say officially and with awareness of our role as a Sports Club Management only fortunately, fortunately that only two of our athletes were injured and today we can talk and not mourn victims that could easily exist, as also the video is the irrefutable witness of all the tragedies that happened. For the rest, we will wait for the decisions of the competent bodies of the E.P.O. to which we also appealed to the Rhodes Prosecutor’s Office, which ordered an ex officio preliminary examination, with the hope that the punishments would be such that no team would experience the “hospitality” of the Rhodes club again.
We would also like to officially congratulate and thank the one stated on the match sheet as A.E.R.’s goalkeeper coach. Afandou Mr. Milios Georgios who was the only one who helped our athletes and coaches enter the locker room at the risk of his own physical integrity, putting his body in front of the anger and blows of the “four-five young men who were boiling the their blood”. Finally, let the President of A.E.R. ask how we left the stadium. Ask the team representative what happened in the referees office along with our own representative. Regarding the threats of “coffins” being prepared and threatening us in the official e-mail of our club only a few hours after the events and for our upcoming game in beautiful Rhodes on 11/2/2024 with the team of Ialyssos, we are sure that the competent bodies will be seized and their so “brave” senders will be found.
