They knew Aris and Panserraikos calms down! Pablo Garcia’s team may have found themselves losing to Akis Manzio’s thanks to collar of the improbable Lorraine Moronbut he took advantage of the “yellow” slump with his incredible header Alexic in the 95′ got a great point (1-1) in a match for the 21st matchday of the Stoiximan Super League.
Very hard game in Serres with footballers leaving the pitch and returning to it… battery powered in the head, with Gilos being rather…sparing in his use of yellow cards.
Ares is frivolous for one more matchsince after the 0-1 he did not make the slightest effort to “clean up” the match, as a result of which Panserraikos drew and was relieved after Volos’ draw with Panaitolikos.
At -7 now from the top four, the “yellows” who will go down to Peristeri next game for the match with Atromitos, while Panserraikos will host Panathinaikos.
In the minds of the coaches:
With a more aggressive one 4-2-3-1 lined up Panserraikos o Pablo Garcia. Hovan in goal, with Deligiannidis, Bergstrom, Thymiani and Peleas in defense. Staikos with Ouedraogo the two midfielders, Thomas behind the only promoted Betancourt and Dunkelroy and Ward on the wings.
On the other hand, Mr Akis Manzios, continued to trust the 4-3-3. Cuesta under the posts, with Odubajo, Veleth, Brambetz, Montoya in defense. Djurasek, Darinda, Verstrate the trio in the center, with Suleimanov on the right, Saverio on the left and Moron at the top of the attack.
The match
The two teams were conservative in the first minutes of the match in Serres with the home team in a more passive role and Aris with the ball at his feet trying to create conditions in Hovan’s goal. His first final of the match was recorded in the 4th minute with Suleimanov making the classic move, converging towards the axis, shooting but sending the ball over the posts, while Moron did the same five minutes later.
Panserraikos made its presence felt in the 12th minute, losing its best moment up to that moment. Warda troubled Odubajo, and with an excellent cross in the heart of the area, he found Betancourt at the back of the Aris defence, but the Spaniard’s header ended up in the arms of Cuesta.
The game was quite tough with Tzilos blowing the whistle quite a lot stopping the flow and giving both teams the opportunity to fill the opposing area with set balls. In the 22nd minute, Thomas’ direct foul ended up in the arms of Questa, while a little later Suleimanov again missed with a shot.
The “yellows” threatened in the 28th minute with Odubajo who made the move and turned into the area, Suleimanov crossed on the move with Hovan blocking.
Panserraikos continued with the same philosophy, looking for a goal in the counterattack and in the 35th minute missed another good chance for 1-0. From Deligiannidis’ cross, the ball reached Betancourt, he made a terrible control in the area, turned but his place was weak and ended up in the arms of Questa.
In the ten minutes that passed until the end of the half, nothing shocking happened and the two teams went to the locker room without a score (0-0).
The second half started without changes, with the first minutes passing without anything special and Aris winning a free kick from the right. Darida executed by bringing the ball into the area, the defense of the home team did not clear properly, with Moron taking the ball on the edge of the area and then after “getting rid” of two defenders, he shot with an improbable volley and sent the ball into the window of Hovan for 0-1!
In fact, the league’s top scorer, during the celebrations, rushed to the bench to pick up the jersey with the number “19” that bore Alki’s name, on the occasion of the completion of two years since his unjust loss.
This quick goal may have foreshadowed a “lively” second half with Panserraikos reacting a little later. It was the 60th minute, when from a ball that came out of the defense, Thomas took the header and passed the ball to Betancourt, who lowered the cross with his right, but Cuesta fell and saved! Five minutes later Aris looked for the second goal with Saverios, stepping from the left into the area and shooting, but Hovan saved with his feet.
Aris managed the game with Panserraikos trying to find an equaliser, with Betancourt’s highlight in the 82nd minute where Verstraat got a save with his leg to help Cuesta block.
However, the guests did not secure the victory and paid for it in the fifth minute of stoppage time. Pablo Garcia’s side developed from the left with Oikonomou crossing and Aleksic deftly beating Ferrari in the air to head the ball into the net for a 1-1 final.
MVP: Given that he redeemed Panserraikos by coming on as a substitute, Kosta Aleksic is the Man of the Match!
The “whistle”: The match in Serres was quite tough with Tsilo being forced to stop the flow of the match several times. However, overall it scores well in management and disciplinary control.
