Stoiximan Super League: All for all for the “eternal” and the most passable for the “Two-Headed”

by

OFI-Kifisia

The two teams will meet for the first time in their history with OFI as host for the Stoiximan Super League. Their only meeting was the one for the 1st Round with the home team of Kifissia and it ended in a goalless draw.

This will be their fourth meeting for this season, after they have also faced each other in the Greek Cup, with OFI winning in Crete 3-1 and in the second leg of Kaisariani a draw 1-1.

The two teams have met in the past both for the Greek Cup in a single match in 2022-23, where Kifisia prevailed 1-0 and qualified for the “16” of the institution.

At the same time, they have coexisted in the third division championship in 2015-16, where OFI won 1-0 at home and 3-0 in Kifissia.

OFI beat Panaitolikos 1-0 in their last home match and broke the negative streak of eleven consecutive games without a win in the league, since their previous victory was against AEK on October 2, 2023.

Kifisia, for its part, plays its 10th away match in the Stoiximan Super League and in the previous nine has two draws and seven defeats with a goal ratio of 10-24.

AEK-Asteras Tripoli

AEK has 16 consecutive matches against Asteras Tripoli without defeat regardless of the organization and home. In this series of matches he has eleven wins and five draws. Three of the last six games between the two teams have ended in draws, but all three were in Arcadia.

Asteras Tripoli’s 16-match home and away unbeaten streak has started since the 2-0 defeat of the Arcadia team at home on October 1, 2017.

AEK have won their last two games against Asteras Tripoli without conceding a goal, 2-0 for their last year’s match in New Philadelphia and 3-0 in the First Round of this year’s championship.

Five of AEK’s eleven home wins were 2-0, while they still have three 2-1 wins. The Kitrinomavroi have a plurality in the scores, while on the contrary there is a repetition of both the two draws – all with 2-2, as well as the two victories of Asteras Tripoli which are with 0-1.

Rafik Dzibur is the only footballer who has managed to score in three consecutive AEK games with Asteras Tripoli, from 2008-09 to 2010-11, while Simanski is the only one to have scored twice in the same match, after scored both of AEK’s goals in AEK – Asteras Tripoli 2-2 on February 20, 2021.

PAS Ioannina-Lamia

Most of the pages of the history of the encounters between PAS Ioannina and Lamia are in the big division, since the two teams have met a total of 13 times for the Super League and only 4 times for the 3rd National League which is the only different division in which they have coexisted.

PAS Ioannina have not managed to win in their last four away meetings with Lamia and their last win against the Fthiotida team was on February 28, 2022 with 1-0 thanks to Piersman’s goal.

Last year’s match between the two teams in the mainland city ended in a 1-1 draw (13′ Eramouspe – 58′ Nunies), as did the one held in Lamia for the Second Round. The Fthiotida team has won the last two at home, one for last year’s Playouts and the other for the First Round of this year’s Stoiximan Super League.

The first Super League meeting between them took place on 10 December 2017 and ended in a 1-1 draw, as did their next meeting in Epirus, where it ended in a goalless draw on 4 November 2018. Two of their three total draws with home PAS have ended with 1-1, while on November 4, 2018 it was the only match with PAS home that had no goals (0-0).

Atromitos-PAOK

The last eight matches between Atromitos and PAOK have been completed without an away win. Dikephalos have won their last three home games and Atromitos in their last three home games had a draw and two wins.

The last double took place on September 14, 2019 when PAOK prevailed 3-2 in Peristeri. Akpom, Leo Matos and Crespo scored the goals for the Thessaloniki team, while Vellios found the net twice for Atromitos.

The two teams have met a total of 26 times, with the first of them in the distant 1972, when on November 26, PAOK won 2-0 thanks to goals from Sarafis and Apostolidis. Dikefalos had five wins in as many visits to Athens against Atromitos for the team’s first season in the top division.

Stelios Sfanianakis was the first footballer to score two goals in the same match for Atromitos in 2007, while Stavros Sarafis and Giorgos Koudas had done it since 1976 for PAOK in their biggest away win over Atromitos, with a score of 6 -1.

Vellios and Koulouris are the other two footballers who have scored a pair of goals in a match that took place in Peristeri, while Efthymis Koulouris is the only one who has scored for both teams in a match between Atromitos and PAOK.

Panathinaikos-Olympiakos

The two teams will meet for the fourth time in the season, since in addition to the match of the First Round which was not completed and was won by Panathinaikos with 3-0, there was also their match for the “16” of the Greek Cup, which was decided in the penalty shootout, after the two matches ended in a draw, 1-1 at Leoforos and 0-0 at Karaiskakis Stadium.

Panathinaikos has been defeated in only one of its last eleven meetings with Olympiakos, regardless of home and organization. In those eleven games there are six draws, four wins by the Greens and one by the Red and Whites, which was for last season’s Playoffs.

In general, however, the draw is the winner in the derby between Panathinaikos and Olympiakos when the Greens are the home team. The games between them don’t even have many goals, with 10 of the 68 having ended 0-0, while overall the average goals per game is just 2.01.

The most popular score is 1-1, with 14 appearances, while only three times Panathinaikos and four times Olympiacos have scored three or more goals in a game.

No footballer has scored a hat trick in a match between Panathinaikos and Olympiacos, while Masouras, El Arabi, Tzibour, Cisse, Karapialis, Vazeha, Alvares and Antoniadis have scored two goals in the same match.

The most victories of Panathinaikos (9) and the most of Olympiakos (7) are with a score of 1-0, while in only four matches there was a draw with four goals (2-2).

The first meeting between the two teams for the A’ National/Super League was with Panathinaikos at home on February 14, 1960 and ended 0-0. The Greens are unbeaten at home in the first seven matches against Olympiakos and this is their best streak. The Red and Whites, for their part, have remained unbeaten in away matches against Panathinaikos for eight consecutive matches, from November 1, 1980 to November 6, 1988 when they were defeated 2-1.
