Megaton scandal in Portugal!
A report by the “local” CNN reveals that Benfica paid money to former referee of the 1st category. This is the 47-year-old Bruno Paisaowho “hung” his whistle in 2018.
According to the report, he allegedly received in his bank account from the “eagles” total amounts of two million euros! The payment, it is emphasized, was made through a technology consulting company for Paisao work, which it never existed.
The businessman and owner of the company are involved in the case, Jose Bernardeswho had previously dealt with rumors of a scandal centered on Benfica.
For its part, the Portuguese club denied all chargeswhile Paisao described the issue as a misunderstanding, confirming that he received the money, but after months of working for Bernardes’s company.
The case is now being investigated by the Portuguese authorities and if the suspicions are confirmed, the club is in danger of being demoted in the second category!
