“It’s the same for everyone. We don’t have such a broad horizon for the tournament. We only think about the match against Peristeri, which is very strong, we have to compete, fight the game, present our best selves and win. Then we’ll see what’s next, if it comes up. I don’t think you go into a tournament thinking about three games. Only the assistant coaches prepare the scouting of the potential teams. The players and the coach only think about the first game, which is particularly difficult.
Crete, for me personally but also for Olympiakos, creates a very nice feeling. We won the last two competitions in Heraklion. We want to do the same. Anyone who plays for Olympiakos is highly motivated, that’s how it should be. We will look to enjoy the tournament, the first game and if the rest comes up. I invite people to come to Heraklion, it is a fantastic city, with many beauties, restaurants, beaches and it can host very nice games”.
