The president of the Super League Minas Lysandros stated:

This year, the Super League, in collaboration with Major League Sponsor STOIXIMAN, is also supporting the organization BE MY HERO, thus giving a message

In addition to the multitude of social initiatives that the Super League has undertaken over the years, to highlight the valuable work of the “FLAME” and “SHINE”, but also to inform and raise public awareness of the titanic life struggle that they give the children with neoplastic diseases and their families, the Super League and all the teams that make it up, we always stand by the children and their families, giving a message of hope and optimism”.

It is a day of awareness for the needs of children suffering from cancer, dedicated to those children who are now facing cancer with courage and bravery, to those who have recovered, but also to those who are no longer with us.

We are parents of children who happened to have cancer. Our absolute priority is to use the weapons that the development of medicine and technology puts at our disposal, and to achieve a cure for more children.

On behalf of the parents and children of Flogas, the Panhellenic Association of Parents of Children with Neoplastic Disease, we would like to thank the Super League for its multi-year and multifaceted contribution.

Every year, he is by our side, strengthens us morally and materially and strengthens our voices. Together we convey the most powerful and meaningful message:

“Childhood cancer CAN be cured”.

A big thank you to the Super League, the chairman, the Board and all the teams who have been with us in this competition since 2011.

This day is a symbol of optimism and hope for us!”

The Bone Marrow Donor Volunteer gives life to fellow human beings suffering from leukemia and other blood diseases.

If you are between 18-40 years old and in good health, you too can become a Volunteer Bone Marrow Donor.

It is important to point out that joining the pool of Volunteer Bone Marrow Donors does not mean donating a transplant.

Why is it important to register?

It is necessary to realize that the registration of Greeks in the voluntary donor register is important because due to similarities between compatriots it is much more likely to find a compatible donor for a patient of Greek origin in the Greek donor pool.

It has been calculated by statistical models that a country with about 10,000,000 compatriots, such as Greece, could ensure a probability of finding a compatible donor for a patient of the order of 60-80% in its own pool, if it had about 200,000 registered volunteer donors .

For this reason, it is crucial to increase the number of Greek voluntary donors, who are currently less than 45,000.

Every 4 minutes a person is diagnosed with blood cancer.

In 4 minutes YOU can SAVE the LIFE of a person suffering from blood cancer.

In 4 minutes you can become a VOLUNTEER BONE Marrow DONOR. So simple! With a cotton swab.

Are you 18-40 years old?

Be the MIRACLE that those suffering from blood cancer are waiting for.

Be a Hero! Become a Volunteer Bone Marrow Donor. So simple! With a cotton swab!

BECOME the hero of hundreds of children and adults suffering from blood cancer. And in the rare case that you are compatible, you offer your blood with a method like Blood Donation and you may save the life of a child or an adult who is ill.

These patients are waiting for a miracle and that miracle could be YOU.

Give life! In 4 minutes!

World Childhood Cancer Day aims to inform and raise awareness in the wider social environment about the needs of children suffering from cancer and the importance of early diagnosis.

It is estimated that, in the world, every year, 250,000 children get cancerof which only 20% have access to proper medical care.

80% of them come from developing countries, where there is no possibility of diagnosis and proper treatment.

More than 150,000 deaths each year could have been avoided if early diagnosis and specialized treatment were available to all children.

In our country, it is estimated that 280-300 children fall ill every year.

80% of them, with specialized treatment, win the battle for life.

In childhood cancer there is no prevention, however early diagnosis leads to a cure for most children.

Therefore, special attention should be paid to:

· in the training of health professionals, so that they are able to diagnose the disease in time and

· proper information for parents, so that they can contact pediatric hospitals in time.

The “Flame” and “Shine” Associations

they are next to the families, share their fears and anxieties and support their struggle in every way.

They strive to properly inform the public about childhood cancer and dispel prejudices.

Childhood cancer can be cured!

Children have the right to proper medical care, regardless of their ethnic, social or economic status!

Children with cancer need all of us!
