Their optimism that the “ILCA Senior European Championships & Open European Trophy 2024” which will be held in Faliriko Ormos (18-23/02) will be a success, both on an organizational and competitive level, the organizers of the championship expressed, in the press conference that took place at the facilities of the always welcoming Hellenic Sailing Federation.
The press conference was opened with a greeting by the Deputy Minister of Sports Yannis Vroutsis, followed by the statements of the president of the E.I.O. and the organizing committee of Nikis Anastasiou, the chairman of the organizer Nautical Club of Kalamaki and vice-chairman of the organizing committee Giorgos Christopoulos and the deputy regional director of sports Vasiliki Millousi.
At the press conference, the members of the National sailing team Anastasios Panagiotidis (ILCA 7), Dimitris Papadimitriou (ILCA 7), Marios Stathas (ILCA 6), Prokopiou Nikos (ILCA 6), Ermioni Gika ( ILCA 6), Christina Meni (ILCA 6), who will fight in the championship for the Olympic qualification.

“Our Greece was, is and will be a big hug for all countries, for all sports! In less than 24 hours, our country will open its arms to welcome 324 sailors from 48 countries, who together with our international athletes will open their sails in Falirikos Ormos, competing in the great European event, ILCA Senior European Championships & Open European Trophy, aiming to claim the four European Olympic tickets leading to “Paris 2024”.
I had the pleasure to meet our sportsmen and women, the future of our sailing, to congratulate them on everything they have achieved and wish them from the bottom of my heart to enjoy the games and to be in Marseille!
With the absolute support of the Ministry, the Hellenic Sailing Federation of the Region and of course the organizer, the Nautical Club of Kalamaki, I am sure of a successful event.

“It is no coincidence that World Sailing and the Hellenic Sailing Federation trusted N.O. Kalamakiou. This is the biggest sailing and perhaps sports event in general that will take place in our country in 2024.
It is a race that gives four qualifiers to the Olympic Games and is a great opportunity for the Greek team to showcase their talent and win Olympic places here, and not at the last race in Hyères.
We are optimistic about the future of Greek Sailing and you will see the results in Marseille as well as in Los Angeles in 2028».

The event will be held under the auspices of the EOT, the General Secretariat of Sports and the Municipality of Alimos and in collaboration with the Hellenic Sailing Federation.
The races will be broadcast live with multi-camera coverage and drones from the sea, by the Hellenic Sailing Federation’s live broadcast team via its YouTube channel.
