Manzios: “We go to Peristeri to win”

by

The need – the goal of Aris to gather as many points as possible in the remaining matches until the end of the regular season of the championship is pointed out by Akis Manzios in his statements ahead of today’s match. Regarding tonight’s match, the coach of the yellow team makes it clear that the goal of his players in this match is to win in Peristeri.

Akis Manziou’s statements in detail:

-For the victory in the Betsson Cup match against Panaitolikos:

“Yes, we left her behind! We were happy with last Tuesday’s result, but then we concentrated on preparing for the league match against Atromitos. That’s what we had to do and that’s what we did. It’s a game with a good and difficult team, like Atromitos.”

For today’s match:

“First of all, we focused on ourselves. The main thing was to rest, but also to manage some players, who have consecutive games. To make the necessary rotation, based on our injuries. We analyzed the opponent and focused on his strengths and weaknesses. We are determined to go to Peristeri and win.”

On how the technical leadership of the team managed the joy of the players for the victory in Agrinio:

“The Cup is an institution that we are very interested in. The whole organization wants us to win the Cup. So, we were happy on the day of the match against Panaitolikos, but also the next day, that we took an important step, without forgetting, however, that something is not over yet. We have to move forward and that’s what we’re doing. We tried to prepare mentally mainly, because physically we didn’t have time for the next game.”

When asked what is Aris’ goal until the end of the regular season of the league:

“We want to get as many points as we can. We’ll see what we can do. Now we have to focus on the league and look to make up for the points we lost, especially in the last two games. This happened because maybe – subconsciously – our mind was on the Cup and not on the league. We want to improve our ranking.”

On how much the six-game unbeaten run helps the team going forward:

“It definitely helps us, especially psychologically. It was a period of forty days, in which the team was exhausted, due to the many games and travel. All this brought us mental and physical fatigue. We could have some better results in the league and be better in the standings. We didn’t do it, but we still have a way to go in both the league and the cup until the team goes into regular weeks and is more rested for the finish of the season.”

Focusing on the match against Atromitos, because the opponent has a five-match winless streak for Manzios:

“That doesn’t mean anything. Atromitos had a difficult schedule. They are a good team, based on their strength and transition. It is a game that needs special attention. We have to enter from the beginning determined to win.”
