THE recruitment of Mark Clattenburg from Nottingham Forest in order to assume the position of arbitration analyst brought… a conflict between the former referee and the Gary Neville!
Former Manchester United captain and current Sky Sports commentator criticized his team Vangelis Marinakissaying how “They hire you to tell a team what mistakes the referees make or how they make them. A fan could do that too.
I am disappointed with Nottingham. It’s like they’re saying look what we’re shooting. I get it, some groups feel they have been wronged. It’s a thing that happens, and I would hate it. But hiring an ex-ref to tell you why decisions are being made against you is overkill.
I’m not attacking Forrest’s friends, I know some of them feel ashamed. They certainly don’t like unfair decisions, but I don’t think they think the team’s move is good.”
The above brought the reaction of its former chief referee KED and her advisor Super League for professional arbitration.
Clattenberg blamed for hypocrisy Neville, saying that “I’m disappointed with what Gary Neville said. His employer, Sky Sports, has employed former referees to help fans and viewers understand the rules and Nottingham are doing exactly the same.”
“What are you doing?!” ??
