Currently in Liverpool’s reserve, Brazilian Roberto Firmino managed this Wednesday (16) an important goal to regain the confidence of coach Jürgen Klopp. In the first leg against Inter Milan in the round of 16 of the Champions League, he came off the bench to pave the way for England to win 2-0.

With the result, also built with a goal from the Egyptian Mohamed Salah, the English will have the advantage of being able to lose the second game by up to a goal difference that still advance to the quarterfinals. The return match will be on March 8th.

The two goals came in the final stage, precisely at a time when the Italians were creating more chances to open the scoring. First it was Firmino’s turn, who had replaced Diogo Jota at half-time, to score in the 30th minute. Shortly after, at 38, it was Salah’s turn to make the second.

In the other game on Wednesday, Red Bull Salzburg almost managed to surprise Bayern Munich. In a confrontation played in Austria, the home team opened the scoring with the Nigerian Chukwbuike Adamu, in the 21st minute of the first half, but suffered a tie in stoppage time in the second half, in a goal scored by Coman.

As the goal scored as a visitor is no longer a tiebreaker in the Champions League, in the event of a new tie in the return game, scheduled for March 8, the dispute will extend to extra time.

In the last edition of the tournament, in which they defended the title, Bayern faced Salzburg twice in the group stage and won both, 3-2 in Austria and 3-1 in Germany.
