Kalaitzakis: “If we want to go to the Final-4, tomorrow’s game will be a very good test”

Statements ahead of Panathinaikos AKTOR’s away match with Real Madrid (28/2, 21:45) for the 27th matchday of the Euroleague, did the Panagiotis Kalaitzakis!

The “green” guard insisted that he and his teammates will claim victory at the home of the best team in this year’s Euroleague so far, calling tomorrow’s match a very good test.

On the Real game and how he is physically: “Lately and after the final with Olympiacos, we haven’t been able to train all together, since most of us were with the national teams. Today actually, one day before the match, we all trained together. Our goal is to show up ready against a team that is the best in the Euroleague so far. But we’re not too far away either, we’ve shown good things in the EuroLeague, even though we’ve had a bit of a belly lately. Our goal is to win, there is no game you go to lose. We are in Panathinaikos and in every game our goal is to win. As far as I’m concerned, as is the case with Moraitis, Kosta and Mandzouka, we came straight from Holland and today in training, in a very good mood”.

On the fact that Panathinaikos and Real had many players in national teams and whether this will affect the match: “As we saw, many players from different Euroleague teams went to their national teams, so it’s not just us. And Real had a lot of internationals, that might help us, it might not”.

For the negative performance of Panathinaikos against Real: “We don’t think about it, I didn’t even know about it. We go in for the win and we don’t think about negative streaks. This is our job, to come and claim the positive result. Two months ago in OAKA we were very competitive, against a Real who were at their best, with just one defeat. If we want to go to the Final-4, tomorrow’s game will be a very good test”.
