Celtic are seventh, but Rangers are top

by

Firmly at the top of the Scottish Premier remained Rangers, who won 2-1 at home to Kilmarnock for the 28th matchday of the Scottish Premier and stayed at +2 from second place, remaining the favorite for the first place of the regular season and leaving the hosts in the top four.

Kilmarnock took a 1-0 lead and troubled the “protesters” with Armstrong’s penalty in the 11th minute, but within four minutes Tavernier in the 55th minute and Lawrence in the 59th minute brought the “Protestants” overturning.

Celtic didn’t stop scoring against Dundee, demolishing their rivals 7-1 at Celtic Park to remain at -2 in second place, leaving the visitors just barely in the top six.

The “Catholics” reached 6-0 in the first half with the goals of Carter-Vickers at 7′, Utse at 18′, O’Reilly at 22′, Maeda at 30′, Taylor at 36′ and McGregor at 45’+ 4′. In the 64th minute, Kelly made it 7-0 before Mellon reduced the deficit in the 84th minute.

Hearts failed to beat Hibernian in the Edinburgh derby, and with a 1-1 draw at home, they simply maintained a secure third place.

Motherwell “passed” easily with 3-1 from the home of the tailed Livingston and reduced to -3 from the privileged six.

Aberdeen and St Johnstone are tied in tenth place with the latter’s 2-0 win at the home of the 1983 European Cup winners.
