A full-length interview regarding his move to Mars and his decision to leave Spain was given by Lorraine Moron.
Speaking to the “estadiodeportivo”, the Iberian striker of the “yellows” referred to his adaptation to our country, his presence in Aris, he unraveled the tangle of his transfer to him, while among other things he revealed a phrase that his father had told him.
In fact, Moron declared that he was happy that he moved to our country to compete in “Cleanthis Vikelidis”, stressing that in the end his decision was the right one.
What Loren Moron said in detail:
About Greece and his adaptation he initially said: “I am very happy here. My season is fantastic. When I arrived I didn’t know what I would find, but now I don’t regret it. There’s been a few games in a row where I haven’t scored, but I’m in good shape heading into the Playoffs.
It’s something I’ve talked about with my dad recently, because I’ve been playing very little for the past couple of years. I thought that this change of country would be very difficult for me. When I got here I didn’t think I would feel so good and that my… complaint would be that I can’t rest, because I’m basically always playing. The work I did in the previous two years did not show on the field because I did it without having the opportunities I would have liked. But now it seems. Luckily I didn’t have an injury after being out for so long. It’s a sign that I’ve taken a lot of care of myself in those years when I’ve had a bad time.”
The phrase his father had told him: “My father always says the phrase ‘where do you buy confidence?’ If you don’t believe in yourself, no one is going to believe in you. Without going any further, in the game against Volos I missed a goal that a striker cannot miss. but without thinking about it the next time I scored the goal. This means I’ve learned not to dwell on the mistake like I did before and it’s reflected on the pitch. The psychological factor is key and there are external aids that can be very helpful in these moments.”
For his presence on Mars: “From numbers and performance, I think he’s the best version of me. Here I participate in many phases of the game, which I did not do other times due to lack of confidence or fear of failure. I have a bitter taste for not showing it at the races. My coaches saw me do it in practice. With Jose Juan Romero in Betis B I was more than a scorer and with Rubi in the first team. This change of scenery and the move to Mars was wonderful. I am satisfied”.
When asked what prompted him to come to Greece: “I had teams in Spain, but I didn’t see it because I was bad psychologically and it took me time to make the best decision. I spoke with my family and representatives and we decided to accept Aris’ offer. And we were not wrong… There are people who will say that the Greek league is fine and it is normal to stand out, but the reality is that it is not that far below major European leagues.”
As for what has changed compared to previous failed seasons: “Attitude is very important and language was key. When I arrived I played a lot of games in the Conference League. I wasn’t up to par yet and I didn’t score. There was criticism, but because I didn’t understand the language, I didn’t worry and moved on. In Spain it always comes to you and affects you. When I arrived I had the fact that I couldn’t take another gap year, that I would be in trouble. My career was at stake, yes, but I was brave and now I’m happy.”
For the seasons he… lost in Spain: “I look back and think that in the last two years I didn’t get the opportunities that I deserved or that I thought I deserved. But they didn’t go to waste, because they served as a learning experience… I had a really bad time. you don’t get frustrated, but you wonder why they don’t trust you, when I trust myself. It’s very complicated, but everything goes through something and now I’m very well.”
