The regular season of the league is over and the teams are entering the final turn of the season. In the playoffs, the champion will be decided, as well as the European tickets, while in the playouts we will watch the battle to avoid relegation.
THE OFI is in a special year, where it includes three coach changes, poor competitive image and a placement in the low places of the standings. The Cretans finished in eleventh place in the league, +6 from the danger zone and will fight for survival.
In this year’s troubled season, however, OFI recorded the best home results against the “Big 5” teams, proving the power it always draws from its home base.
Under the instructions of Valdas Dabrauskas he prevailed over him PAOK (1-0) and his Mars (3-2), while he obliged her AEK in its only defeat in this year’s championship (2-0). In the last game of the regular season, the Cretan team drew with Panathinaikos(2-2), having been defeated only by Olympic (0-2) on November 30.
These results constitute the best home record of a team outside the “Big 5” against the perennial title contenders.
OFI, in the playouts, will claim to stay in the first national division with Traianos Della at the helm of the team. The program includes seven difficult missions, however this year the Cretans have proven that they are always a force to be reckoned with at home.
