THE Mike James is since yesterday (07/03) first scorer in its history Euroleaguewith many former and current teammates/associates congratulating him on this feat.
One of them is Vladimir Mitsov. The Serbian veteran forward, who coexisted with James in Armani Milan in the 2018-19 season, he idolized the American and talked about the big one maturation which he has shown in recent years in terms of his character.
In detail what he said:
On getting along with James: “With him, on the field, the collaboration was amazing. There were no big names in Armani at the time. Just me and Gaudlock, but we had won the Scudetto. Then, the next year, Mike arrived. Fantastic player, smart, great scorer. But off the pitch… The club supported him a lot, which I respected because he was a dominant player. It played great, but it was like… a ticking time bomb. Sometimes the smallest thing can make him go crazy.”
On his communication with Saša Obradovic, who called Micov for advice before signing a new contract with Monaco: “I remember the conversation well. He called me when Mike was about to sign a new contract. He wanted to understand how to approach him, how to find a common language. We talked for more than an hour. It was just that there were some bad situations in Milan and at the end of it they had created a disturbance.”
On whether things have changed now: “I’m looking at him now. He has grown mentally, there is no comparison with the past. Now he plays as a member of the team. He is spectacular. He has achieved great things and I congratulate him for that.”
