AEK is back… half of Spata

Its football department returns to training today AEKwhich does not have any competitive obligations until March 31, when the derby with Olympiacos is scheduled for the 2nd matchday of the Stoiximan Super League playoffs.

Matias Almeida has scheduled a morning training session, but eight footballers will be absent from Spata, which may become nine.

Specifically, the Argentinian coach does not count the Greek internationals (Athanasiadis, Rota and Mandal), while Garcia, Pineda, Cullens, Simanski and Vida left for their national team.

From there, the situation with Gacinovic is expected to be clarified, with the “Union” and the Federation of Serbia being in contact, since the footballer is considered unfit after his latest injury.

The Serbs have two friendlies against Russia and Cyprus, on March 21 and 25, respectively. However, the anxiety in the “yellow and black” camp concerns Garcia and Pineda, since the international striker has obligations with Trinidad against Canada for the Nations League playoffs, while the Mexican has the semi-final (perhaps the final) for the CONCACAF Nations League.

The first is estimated to be back in Greece around March 25, while the second after the 27th of the month.
