Official: Nesic took over Panathinaikos

New coach in his women’s volleyball Panathinaikou Dragan Nesic!

The recruitment of the 54-year-old Serb, who replaces Yiannis Kalmazidis, was announced by the “clover”.

Panathinaikos Sports Club announces the start of its partnership with Serbian coach Dragan Nesic for women’s volleyball for the remainder of the season.

Dragan Nesic, who takes over as the first coach of the “clover” women’s volleyball team, has many years of experience on the European benches, the highlight of which was winning the Challenge Cup with the Italian Monte Ciavo in 2009.

At the same time, the 54-year-old Serbian technician has been a federal coach in the National Women’s Team of Bulgaria (2014-16) and Montenegro (2016-17) as well as the National Team of Serbia U20 (1997).

At club level he has been through Rapid Bucharest, Maccabi Haifa, Canakkale, Targovice, Caserta, Bari, Galatasaray and Monte Ciavo.

In a statement on www.pao1908.com he said “It is a great honor and pleasure to take on the role of coach in a great women’s volleyball team such as Panathinaikos.

I know very well the size of the Club and the great influence the section has on the fans of the team. I know the atmosphere at our games and I can’t wait to experience it.

I want to say that I found a fit and good team and they deserve congratulations to the previous technical tim. In the short time we have ahead of us we will work hard and I will try to pass my energy to the team and achieve the best possible”.
