A place in the tenth WTA 1000 semi-final of her career was booked early in the morning by Maria Sakkari, who won a 2-1 set (5-7, 6-2, 6-4) against Emma Navarro, and qualified for the semi-finals of Indian Wells.
The Greek champion confirmed that she is in great shape, after pouring out her soul in a three-hour game, and reached the “4” of the California tournament for the third year in a row.
Maria Sakkari, who lost the first set 7-5 to her American opponent, tied with relative ease at 1-1 set (6-2) and after an exhausting battle, which lasted almost three hours, made the 2 -1 (6-4) and got the ticket for the next phase.

“This was the hardest fight I’ve had in a while. Emma is an amazing player and a very nice girl. I had the opportunity to get to know her better in the last few days. He plays amazing and it’s a huge win for me, I’m very happy that I found a way to win this match today“, Sakkari stated in the statements she made from the court.
