by

At the end of the current or next week he will return to action Luka Vildosaas he stated speaking on the Red Star website ahead of tonight’s test Panathinaikou AKTOR in Belgrade. The Argentinian guard did not hide the bond he has with the red and whites after his stint with the team last year, while he revealed that he is learning Serbian.

In detail, Luca Vildosa spoke about:

-the state of his injury: “The knee is getting better and better. I think the first time I rushed back and it turned out that it wasn’t the best decision for my body. Now I have decided to make a full recovery, however long it takes and so far so good. Unfortunately I can’t play in Belgrade, but I hope to integrate into the team at the end of this week or next. I am happy that I will be fully ready for the next matches.”

-his feelings on tonight’s game: “It will be a bit strange because I didn’t travel with the team. I wanted to go to see again the fans who supported me last season. Of course I will watch the game and support my team, but the love for Red Star is always there.”

-his last year’s course at Red Star: “When I think about last season, many things go through my mind, but the first thing is that I was given the opportunity to play after a very serious injury in the NBA. I had a serious problem in Milwaukee and Red Star allowed me to come back to the EuroLeague and show what kind of player I can be when I’m fully healthy. From the first day I felt love and acceptance. I didn’t like the whole situation I experienced in the NBA, but I won the MVP of the month award in the Euroleague and was one of the leaders of the Red Star. I will forever be grateful to him for what he has offered me. I felt at home in Belgrade from day one. My girlfriend is a friend of Red Star and we watch all the games together. I know I had my ups and downs in the season, but the people loved me and I will never forget that.”

-the world of Red Star: “The team had ups and downs and a lot of injuries, but they were by our side every game, in good times and bad. I started to feel that way here too, but to be honest it’s not the same as in Serbia.”

-the Serbian lessons he is doing: “Indeed, I am learning the language. I’m learning to write, how to pronounce some words correctly, but I must say it’s a very difficult language. At one point I had stopped because of the difficulty, but I started again and with the help of my girlfriend it is easier. I hope I have learned by the time I return to Belgrade next year and can send a message to the fans in Serbian. As I said, Belgrade and Red Star have a special place in my heart and I hope to feel that way again in the future.”
