According to an interview with the director of “Stark Arena”, Goran Grbovic, in “Mozzart Sport”, after winning this year’s Final 4 of the Basketball Champions League, Serbian basketball people have submitted an official proposal to the EuroLeague to organize one of the next three Final 4 of the event!

“We’ve already applied for one of the next three EuroLeague Final Fours before Abu Dhabi has even appeared in history. We’ll see if we get any of those. But what is clear to everyone in the basketball world is that Belgrade is a perfect destination and is open to everyone.
The EuroLeague had a big problem in 2022, due to Covid. There were no funds, they had nothing. Belgrade was the first to intervene and you saw what happened. The stands are full, the organization is perfect. These are our arguments for the future.
We have many contacts in the basketball world. We talked to people from FIBA ​​about completely unrelated things and the subject of the Champions League finals came up. They had problems with Antalya, which was originally supposed to be the host.
We agreed on everything easily. Just remember what the score was in the previous two EuroLeague Final Fours we hosted. We got clean scores and the same will be true now with the Champions League. FIBA is, after all, an umbrella organization, which saw that Serbia is a basketball country.
There will be no problems. Also ask Maccabi how the situation is in Belgrade. I don’t know how many people know this, but we also wanted to host all the clubs from Russia and Ukraine. Our post is open to everyone, because sport unites us.
