And yet… it ended 0-0!
The match ended without a score and a winner OFI by Fearless in “Th. Vardinogiannis” in the context of the 2nd matchday of the Stoiximan Super League playouts.
The two teams, therefore, maintained their unbeaten streak (for three and five games respectively), with the visitors remaining alone first and at +1 from Asteras who earlier lost (2-0) to Panserraikos and the hosts seeing the their difference from Kifissia and the relegation zone to grow to five points, but without getting out of trouble.
In a game with many great chances. Most were for OFI, which was better in the first half, with Atromitos, on the other hand, having two beams (40′ Valencia, 86′ Acevedo), having three great moments in the final!
In… the minds of the coaches:
THE Traianos Dellas lined him up OFI with system 4-2-1-3 and Christogeorgos in the hearth. The quartet of defense, from right to left, consisted of Marinakis, Vouros, Lambropoulos and Abada. Midfield duo Meyado and Gaiegos, with Toral in a free role in front of them. At the top is Iseka, with Baku and Riera flanking him.
On his part, Mr Sasha Ilyich keep it 4-3-3 for Fearless. Marchezani, also at the mercy of Tsintotas’ injury, continued under the posts, with Keshrida at the right end of the defense and Athanasios at the left, while De Bock was next to Acevedo in the stoppers. The midfield trio consisted of Kunde, Ender and Kamara, while the corresponding offensive trio consisted of Valencia, Andzielski, and Vrakas.
The match:
Balanced and at a low tempo the game in its first minutes. OFI was the one who had the first big chance, with Riera’s fine energy and shot on goal 6′ who received an impressive “stop” from Marchezaniwith Vrakas responding to opportunities for the Intrepid at 11′.
Little by little, however, the Cretans began to take the reins, even pulling off one phase after another! The big protagonist is the porter of Peristeriot, who at 15′ made another impressive save, this time on a shot from outside the area by Toral. In the 32′he saw the Spanish midfielder take out with terrible balls in a four-on-four position Iseka, with the all-lone Belgian-Congolese forward’s shot going past the left post. A huge missed opportunity, which forced even Traianos Della to look blankly at its completion.
And another phase for the hosts with Toral in the 34′with Atromitos answering Kamara’s shot caps.
In the final stretch of the first part, Atromitos began to rebalance, making his own phases. In fact, in the top of them, Sasha Ilic’s team came within a breath of the goal at 40′: Nice cross on the move from Athanasios, found him Valencia at the height of the second post, with the Chilean midfielder catching a header and the ball going to the left beam outside too. Therefore, the first half ended scoreless.
The two teams presented themselves without changes in the second half.
The first good moment once again belonged to OFI, with Toral’s header at 47′ after Riera’s corner kick, for Peristeriotes to respond to 55′ with the direct execution of a foul by Kunde.
The changes were made afterwards, with the game catching fire in the finale, with OFI’s young players (Theodosoulakis, Apostolakis) giving new life to their team.
Great opportunities with Luiz Felipe (78′), Theodosoulakis (83′), with Atromitos having three huge chances in the finale. In the 86′ with Vergo’s kick which he impressively sent to the corner Christogeorgosfrom the development of which the Unsure sent the ball onto the post with a header. In the 90’+2′, the Cretan goalkeeper made a big “stop” in a tête-à-tête with Vergo, after a vertical shot by Ender. Thus, 0-0 remained until the final.

MVP: The distinction will go jointly to Marchezani and Toral. Key and impressive saves from the former, many phases created or starred as a performer by the latter. The young men of OFI also distinguished themselves.
The whistle: There were many yellow cards (five and three for Atromitos and OFI, respectively), but the refereeing of Spyridon Zambalas was without problems. In cases of penalties requested (not strongly) by the home team to Luiz Felipe and the guests to Vergo in the final, there did not appear to be any violations.
The compositions of the two teams:
OFI (Traianos Dellas): Christogeorgos – Marinakis, Vouros, Lambropoulos, Abada (79′ Thorarinson) – Meyado (67′ Luiz Felipe), Gayegos – Toral (61′ Bakics) – Baku (67′ Apostolakis), Iseka, Riera (79′ Theodosoulakis).
