Tsitsipas: “I felt unstoppable today!”

For today’s win: “I think my tennis changed after the first game. I went into the match a bit cold, my shots weren’t coming, but being behind relaxed me a bit and the best thing to do was to get the break back straight away, which I did. That’s where I got the momentum, which I kept throughout the match. I was calm in the rallies, trying to read the court and play with the direction of the ball. I hit some big shots in the match, some nice passing shots and running shots, which surprised me too. It was nice to close out the match like that, once the momentum was there, I felt unstoppable in a way.

It was an amazing race, I managed to keep my composure, I read the corners of the pitch very well. I felt like I had an answer at every critical moment. After the rallies I felt strong and determined in what I will do and what tactics I will follow. The games were close and there were moments when it could have gone a little differently, but I think in all the crucial moments I went above and beyond. The most important thing was my composure, because I didn’t give too many unforced errors and I created some incredible shots at some moments of the match, even I was surprised by how I reacted to certain points.”

For the match with Zverev: “He’s a great competitor and can play great tennis on clay. I will make my game plan and approach the match with the calmness and stability that I had today. I hope to go out there and play good tennis one more time.”
