Statements ahead of Olympiakos’ match with Fenerbahce for the 34th and last matchday of the regular season in this year’s Euroleague, did George Bartzokas!
After positioning himself for his hug with Peters, the coach of the “red and white” spoke about Friday’s game (12/4, 21:15), stressing that his team is not going to choose an opponent ahead of the playoffs, while he also talked about the situation they are in Milutinov and Petrushev.
In detail what the coach of Olympiakos said:
“Is it being discussed whether we will choose an opponent? I don’t think Olympiacos has ever done that, nor will it ever do. We respect in principle the effort we have made so far. We have won 21 Euroleague games. We consider it valuable for our team that for the third year in a row we are in the playoffs and we will claim our chances to go to the Final 4. I think we have to respect our effort, the opponent and the people who have sold out for a long time. It will be a very intense game”.
For the Milutinov-Petrushevs: “Medically they are both fine, but coming from months out and Petrusev close to a month, it is different to be healthy and fit for Euroleague matches at this level. We will also look at today’s training and decide if it will be one of the two or both. At the moment Philip is further back, basically he has done one and a half – two team training sessions and you understand that he is not in the same form as the others. It takes a few more days”.
