The deal was sealed at a special event held in Asuncion, Paraguay, paving the way for the eventual participation of Israel’s national team in Copa America…
The president of CONMEBOL, Alejandro Dominguez, said that “During my visit to Israel, I learned how much they love football there. “Football unites cultures, however great the geographical distance, and can contribute to peace.”

The Israel Football Association has signed a new agreement with CONMEBOL which they “very much hope” will enable the Israel national team to take part in future editions of the Copa America.
