Sarunas Jasikevicius described this week as difficult for Fenerbahce, but he believes that they should have beaten Olympiakos, praised the quality and players of Monaco and considers it a given that all the teams in the last match go for the win and do not sit down to lose in order to intertwine opponent.
Analytically: “I want to congratulate Olympiakos, it was a very good game, there were many interesting things to notice. It was a play-off game. We had a very tough week, we improved in terms of what we presented last week. We controlled most of the game, we had control in extra time and I think we should have won the game. However, we did not succeed.”
On the series with Monaco: “Very good team. In recent years they have been on a continuous rise. They have been the same team for a long time, with the same coach and with great quality on the roster. It is the place we want to be at some point. They have a great program, they are a top team, I can’t single out anyone. It’s James, it’s Motejunas, Brown, but it’s like video games, the more you go through the tracks, the harder it gets. We expect more and more difficult games like today and, as I mentioned before, this is a game of details. All the details count, a basket, a foul.”
On whether the matches of the last matchday should be held at the same time: “As you saw, the two teams that were playing for nothing today went to overtime. Think if a player had been injured either by us, or by Olympiakos, what would they have told me and what would they have charged me with. Every game is a battle and it proved to be so today. I have nothing to say, history has shown that all teams play to win. I’m a coach and I only stick to my own issues.”
